Join our Midwinter Private Sightseeing Tour, through partly roadless landscapes. A combination of our tour “Search for the Sarek Moose”, combined with a beautiful relaxed tour in the middle of an old growth forest Nature Reserve by dogsled.
After your early breakfast, you will be picked up by car at your accommodation in Jokkmokk. While enjoying the most magnificent Arctic Colours, and experiencing the Arctic Temperatures. we stop along the way to camera hunt for the Sarek Moose. The moose in Sarek National Park are among the biggest in Sweden as they have their summer grazing in the fertile valleys protected by the National Park. In the fall and early winter, some of them migrate down from the mountains and moose can be spotted on the side of the Kvikkjokk Road. While these wild animals are moving around we hope they come close enough to make good pictures and have a good look at them.
Meanwhile while we enjoy the tour by car, we slowly drive towards one of Jokkmokk finest and beautiful area´s; The Kvikkjokk-Kabla Nature Reserve. The guide is expecting us already with a bunch of happy dogs, waiting for you to get prepared for the tour to start!
While you are sitting on the sled, the guide will steer his dogs through the Kvikkjokk-Kabla Nature Reserve, a beuatiful mountain area, wich is from here on roadless country. This area is accessible only on foot or by boot during summer. During the winter only by snowmobile or dogsled. The area contains both pine virgin forests and spruce virgin forests, vast marshes, birch forests, and bare mountain.
During a lovely break by a crackling fire, a good cup of hot coffee and Swedish Fika, the guide will share his experience and lifestyle with you.
After the break you will return to his homestead where you have one last chance to cuttle the dogs before we drive back to Jokkmokk.
