The best place to be during the winter is Swedish Lapland. Jokkmokk to be precise. One of the most populair experiences is to join a dog sledding tour. Happy dogs are already waiting for you, wagging their tails and barking untill the tour starts.
Booking a tour with small companies, makes it even more special. The dogs are their life, nothing is more important than the wellbeing of their dogs.
These local guides, Sanne & Patrick, live about 15km from Jokkmokk. Join them on a private dog sled tour. Max. 4 persons sitting on one sled and only from the same family or the same group. You can choose between 2 different experiences.
- 3 hours experience; including an outdoor (lighter) lunch, prepared over an open fire, fresh boiled coffee or tea.
- 1 to 1,5 hours only training round, on dog sled
During the tours the guides will share their experience living just above the Arctic Circle. You will learn more about the dogs and maybe you even remember their names afterwards.
Dates and time are at request. We will try to adjust as much as possible to your wishes.
Are you already planning a stay in Jokkmokk, then please start to consider which activities you wish to do. The sooner you prebook an activity, the better chances.

After we have confirmed your booking we either send you a payment link, invoice or we meet in person in Jokkmokk to do the payment.
Dricing to the locationAfter we have met at the kennel we will take a short drive to the starting point. This is where the dogs get their harnesses and you are off course invited to help the guide. The tours can be booked as soon as the guide thinks it is safe enough to have guests on the sled.
We need a thick layer of ice and a thick layer of snow, so the dogs can pull the sled with people sitting on it. Hopefully around the beginning of December. Sometimes a little bit earlier, or later....
The winter is too cold for smaller children because they sit still and can not keep themselves warm enough.
March is the best month to visit with (smaller children). A child must be able to sit and must have there own warm clothing. Just ask us if you wish to book, than we can always check out the possibilities.
As soon as the booking is in order you will receive a confirmation with all the info you need.
